2J Supply: Our Story

2J Supply Co., Inc. is a leading HVAC distributor with 60+ years of service. Founded by Jerry Trimbach and Jim Winget in 1962, the company has grown to 11 locations across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia. In 2025, 2J Supply was acquired by Rheem and joined the Rheem Air Distribution (RAD) group. Guided by the legacy of the Trimbach family and the company's firm roots in the Midwest, 2J delivers top equipment lines and accessories at fair prices and remains a trusted partner to licensed and insured HVAC contractors.

1962

Jim Winget and Jerry Trimbach noticed a need for a distribution house in Dayton, Ohio that would cater to the needs of contractors with integrity. To fulfill this need, they founded 2J Supply Company Inc. on March 1, 1962, at 2130 E. First Street, Dayton, Ohio. They even came up with the name 2J Supply Company since both of their names started with the letter J.

A need in the Community

Jerry Trimbach and Jim Winget noticed a need for a "distribution house" in Dayton, Ohio that would cater to the needs of contractors with integrity. To fulfill this need, they founded 2J Supply Company Inc. on March 1, 1962, at 2130 E. First Street, Dayton, Ohio. They coined the name, 2J Supply Company, because both of their names started with the letter "J".

1972

In 1972, 2J Supply moved to a new location at 872 Valley Street in Dayton, Ohio, marking a new chapter in the company's story. During this exciting time, 2J Supply transitioned ownership from Jim and Jerry to Jerry and Charles Peffley. Charles quickly became an integral part of the 2J Supply team and contributed his expertise and hard work to the company's success for over a decade.

Greg Trimbach became the first of the second-generation owners to join the 2J Supply family. With his expertise in inventory management and dedication to expanding the brand offering, Greg helped the company grow and thrive.

2nd Generation

Larry Trimbach, the second of the second-generation owners, happily joined the 2J Supply family. Alongside his brother Greg and their father Jerry, they worked together to take the company to new heights of growth and expansion.

2018

2J Supply welcomed new leadership naming Kevin Trimbach and Jason Trimbach 3rd generation owners. With over 120 employees, the company is growing and prospering under their leadership. The 2J Supply team is proud to have such dedicated and talented individuals at the helm.

2021

2J Supply made a great move in 2021! The Corporate Office and Dayton Branch moved to a new, bigger facility at 1456 N. Keowee Street, Dayton, Ohio. This new location allows us to better serve our customers and provides an even better experience for all who visit us. We're excited to continue to grow and improve in this new space!

2022 - 2023

2J Supply has expanded its reach by opening the first branch in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Trimbach brothers, Kevin and Jason, credit the continued success of 2J Supply to the 2J Core Values established in 1962, which remain at the forefront of everything the 2J Family does today. The company remains dedicated to providing contractors with an easy and efficient experience by offering a comprehensive selection of equipment, top-notch training, and exceptional services.

2J Supply expanded its reach, opening its first branch in Indianapolis, Indiana. 2J Supply remains dedicated to providing contractors with an easy and efficient shopping experience, offering a comprehensive selection of equipment, top-notch training, and exceptional services in 11 locations across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.

In 2025, 2J Supply joined Rheem’s Rheem Air Distribution (RAD) group—unlocking bigger inventory, deeper technical resources, and faster logistics while staying true to our values. The RAD Era means more of what installers need: stronger product availability, streamlined warranty/RMA support, upgraded training and CEU programs, smarter e-commerce, and co-marketing that actually moves the needle. Same local team, same service DNA—now powered by Rheem’s scale.
