How It Works:

  1. Inputs:
    • Diameter (inches): The user enters the inner diameter of the pipe in inches.
    • Length (feet): The user provides the pipe’s length in feet.
  2. Calculations:
    • The calculator converts the diameter from inches to feet, as this is required for calculating volume in cubic feet.
    • Using the formula for the volume of a cylinder, π × r² × h, where r is the radius (half the diameter) and h is the length, it computes the pipe's volume in cubic feet.
    • The result is then converted into gallons using the conversion factor: 1 cubic foot = 7.48052 gallons.
    • The weight of water is also calculated, using 1 gallon of water = 8.34 pounds, to provide an accurate result for water weight.

Results:

  • The total volume in gallons is displayed.
  • The corresponding weight of the water in pounds is shown.
